Mr. Tendup, aged 88 years in 2010 CE, makes woolen baby shoes at the Tibetan refugee self help centre in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India. The centre offers the refugees an opportunity to live with dignity. Besides traditional items such as Tibetan carpets, wood, metal and leather works, the centre also produces handicrafts, and the items are exported to more than 36 countries all over the world.
