A yellow tram passes along a road in the 'maidan' (large open public space) in Kolkata (Calcutta), West Bengal, India. Started by the Calcutta Tramways Company on 24 February 1873, between Sealdah and Armenian Ghat Street, trams are still operational in Kolkata, making it the only city in India still running a tram service. The Bombay Tramway Company started a tram service at about the same time, but stopped it on
31 March 1964.
