A view from the Darjeeling Himalayan railway (toy train) of a red house on national highway 55 in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway offers a glimpse of the daily life as it meanders through connecting small towns on its route. The narrow guage toy train started service in 1881, connecting the hill station of Darjeeling to 'New Jalpaiguri' in the plains. On 5 Dec. 1999, DHR was inscribed on the World Heritage list by UNESCO.
